Strengthening the transportation infrastructure of Siirt, the Siirt-Kurtalan Road Reşat Baysal Variant and Siirt Airport Connection Road were opened with a ceremony attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and General Director of Highways Ahmet Gülşen.
37 Billion Liras for Siirt's Transportation and Communication Infrastructure
Minister Uraloğlu stated that they have rebuilt the city's transportation network and accelerated the economic and social life of the region with projects such as the Siirt-Kurtalan Road Reşat Baysal Variant and the Airport Connection Road, and that they have invested approximately 2002 billion liras in the transportation and communication infrastructure of Siirt since 37, and increased the length of divided roads from 2002 kilometers in 7 to 137 kilometers.

Uraloğlu stated that they brought comfort and safety to the people of Siirt by increasing the length of the hot bituminous mixture coated road from 2 kilometers to 110 kilometers, and that they improved 186 kilometers of single road, and that they completed important projects such as Siirt Ring Road, Siirt City Crossing, Kozluk-Baykan Road, Batman-Beşiri-Kurtalan Road, Siirt-Tillo Road and Küçüksu-Pervari Road, and that they completed 57,2 kilometers of the 56,2-kilometer Siirt-Eruh Road with surface coating, and that they opened the Zarova and Botan bridges within the scope of the project.

Uraloğlu, who drew attention to the fact that they provided safe and comfortable transportation from Pervari district to Bitlis and Van thanks to the Küçüksu-Hizan-Pervari Road and the Beğendik Botan Bridge they built over the Botan Stream, said the following: “This bridge has consigned the Botan Stream, which was crossed with anxiety, to history and transformed the journey made on it into a nature view that is watched with pleasure. A total of 1 million 810 thousand vehicles have passed over the Beğendik Bridge since the day it was opened. Currently, the works of our 8 important highway projects continue. The Siirt-Kurtalan Road and Airport Connection Road, which we have opened, are important milestones in the transportation infrastructure of Siirt. This route, which we have upgraded to the standard of a divided road with hot bituminous mixture coating, is also equipped with the Reşat Baysal Bridge Intersection and 8 at-grade intersections.”
Annual Savings of 206 Million Liras
Uraloğlu, who noted that by reaching the divided road standard of the airport connection road, citizens will have easier access to the airport and the access of pistachios, honey and other agricultural products produced in the region to domestic and international markets will be accelerated, said, “With this project we have put into service, we will reduce travel time to 14 minutes, save 163 million liras in time and 43 million liras in fuel, totaling 206 million liras annually. We will contribute to the protection of nature by reducing carbon emissions that harm the environment by 2 tons.”
