
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey met with the valuable members of the Turkey Tourism Platform in order to activate the city's unique tourism potential and introduce its historical, cultural and natural beauties to the world. In the productive meeting, a comprehensive exchange of ideas was held on possible collaborations and projects that could be developed to help Bursa reach its rightful position in tourism. Mayor Bozbey emphasized that they are ready to support any project that will contribute to the promotion of Bursa as the Metropolitan Municipality.
Tourism Evaluation Meeting in Stork Village
The address of the evaluation meeting jointly organized by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Turkey Tourism Platform was Eskikaraağaç Stork Village, which is a member of the European Stork Villages Network and famous for its natural beauty. Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, who visited the village center before the meeting and met with friendly citizens, had a sincere conversation with Adem Yılmaz (Uncle Adem), the beloved figure who has become the symbol of the village. Mayor Bozbey, who consulted with the villagers on the work that can be done to protect and develop the village and the storks, announced that the necessary steps will be taken quickly to meet the determined needs as soon as possible.
Broad Participation Tourism Consultation
The meeting, where the future of Bursa tourism was discussed, was attended by Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality External Relations Department Head Pınar Işıkyıldız, relevant administrators of the Metropolitan Municipality, TÜRSAB South Marmara Region Head Murat Saraçoğlu, Bursa Uludağ University representatives, UNESCO Association, Gastronomy Tourism Association, Bursa Area Presidency officials, Bursa City Council representatives, Historical Bazaars and Inns Union, BUSAD (Bursa Industrialists and Businessmen Association), Tourism and Promotion Union, GÜMTOB (South Marmara Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association), Gastronomy Association, TÜRSAB representatives, Skal Club members and BEBKA (Bursa Eskişehir Bilecik Development Agency) officials. Strategic planning for the development of Bursa tourism, studies on increasing the length of stay, effective promotional activities that can be carried out worldwide and especially in the European market, the potential of the Gastronomy Festival, the importance of international flight connections and other important topics that can be developed in tourism were discussed in detail at the meeting. Participants took the floor one by one and shared their valuable opinions and suggestions about the future of Bursa tourism.
Mayor Bozbey: “Bursa Will Be Flooded by Tourists”
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey stated that they have comprehensively evaluated what needs to be done to maximize Bursa's tourism potential with the Turkey Tourism Platform. Stating that the platform has a function that will provide significant contributions to the city's tourism and promotion, Mayor Bozbey thanked all stakeholders who contributed to this cooperation. Emphasizing that they support the decisions taken by the platform as Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Mayor Bozbey said, “We contribute to all kinds of projects that will promote Bursa all over the world. Bursa is one of the most beautiful cities in the world with its unique nature, deep blue sea, rich gastronomy, deep-rooted cultural and historical values, and 8500 years of deep accumulation. We need to transform these unique values of ours into impressive stories. Only then will Bursa truly be flooded with tourists. This will make our city tradesmen and all Bursa residents happy. At the same time, it is of great importance for our citizens to learn and embrace all these valuable values of Bursa.”
TÜRSAB Emphasizes Focus on the European Market
TÜRSAB South Marmara Region President Murat Saraçoğlu stated that the meeting mainly addressed the work that could be done to increase the number of international tourists. Saraçoğlu, who stated that important steps were taken to direct Bursa to different markets that it needs in tourism, said, “As Bursa, we are particularly focused on the European market. We continue our intensive work to bring foreign tourists, especially from countries such as Germany, France and Poland. The Turkish Tourism Platform also contributes to these important works at a high level. As TÜRSAB, we are actively working to bring tourists from home and abroad to various festivals organized by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality. In the coming days, we will invite 36 TÜRSAB Region Presidents to Bursa and introduce the beauties of our city on site. In this way, we will attract more travel agencies to Bursa. We will continue our work with all our might to carry Bursa to that special place it deserves in tourism.”
