Bayraktar TB3 SİHA, which has broken new ground in Turkish aviation history, continues to make a name for itself with its ability to take off and land from a short-runway ship. Having previously successfully completed its first ship tests from TCG Anadolu in November 2024, the national SİHA started new test activities on the ship as of April 22 in line with the plan and successfully completed these tests.
Fully Autonomous Take-Off and Landing Tests Successfully Completed at TCG Anadolu
Bayraktar TB3 SİHA has successfully completed the “fully autonomous take-off and landing tests from a short-runway ship” on the TCG Anadolu ship sailing in the Gulf of Saros, leaving behind another important stage. With these tests, Bayraktar TB4 has completed a total of 3 sorties of automatic ship take-off and landing.
For the First Time, Two Bayraktar TB3s at the Same Time in TCG Anadolu
Within the scope of the test activities carried out today, the 3th prototype of Bayraktar TB4, PT-4, also participated in the tests for the first time. Bayraktar TB3 PT-4, which took off from the Flight Training and Test Center in Keşan, landed on TCG Anadolu and joined the test process. With this development, two national SİHAs were deployed on the TCG Anadolu ship for the first time.
Selcuk Bayraktar Followed the Tests on Site
Baykar Chairman of the Board Selçuk Bayraktar came on board during the tests and led the Baykar Project Team. Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu also came on board and closely monitored the tests from the bridge and ground control stations.
Bayraktar TB3's Flight Hours Exceeded One Thousand
The total flight time of the national SİHA Bayraktar TB3 has reached 1030 hours. Bayraktar TB3, which can be easily deployed on ships thanks to its foldable wing structure, is preparing to be the leader of its class with its capabilities.
Beyond Line of Sight Communications and Deterrent Force
Bayraktar TB3, equipped with beyond-line-of-sight communication capability, can thus be controlled from very long distances. This feature will enable it to perform reconnaissance-surveillance, intelligence and attack missions against overseas targets with the smart munitions it carries, thus making a significant contribution to Türkiye’s deterrent power. Bayraktar TB3’s success in fully autonomous takeoff and landing tests from ships once again demonstrates the superior level Türkiye has reached in unmanned aerial vehicle technology.
