Muratpaşa Municipality, the heart of Antalya, is preparing to introduce the city to the fascinating colors and patterns of flowers. The Flower Patterns Days, which will be held for the first time this year, will take place between May 8-10 at the natural wonder Ziya Gökalp City Park.
Muratpaşa Municipality has partnered with Noto, Sicily, a city famous for its flower festivals and on the UNESCO World Heritage List, for this special event. This partnership aims to contribute to Antalya's international recognition with flower-themed events.
Inter-High School Flower Design Competition Will Add Color
The most striking part of Antalya Flower Patterns Days will be the event where 11 high schools will compete fiercely to create the most beautiful flower pattern. In these patterns, each of which will be transformed into a work of art, exactly 115 thousand stems of flowers carefully grown by Muratpaşa Municipality in its own facilities will be used. This huge number of flowers will turn the park into a riot of color.
The high schools that will participate in the competition were determined as Adem Tolunay Anatolian High School, Antalya Chamber of Commerce Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Fine Arts High School, Dr. İlhami Tankut Anatolian High School, Antalya Final Academy Schools, Metin-Nuran Çakallıklı Anatolian High School, Private Antalya Akant Anatolian High School, Private Request Lara Anatolian High School, Bahçeşehir College Lara Campus, Private Renk Schools and TED Antalya College Private High School.
The jury of this first competition is also composed of experts in their fields. Akdeniz University Faculty of Fine Arts Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Sibel Paşaoğlu Yöndem, Antalya Landscape Architects Chamber President Gülsüm Kıldan, Antalya Florists and Craftsmen Chamber President İsmail Bakaç, Muratpaşa Municipality Parks and Gardens Director Agricultural Engineer Şölen Acar and Muratpaşa District National Education Directorate official will meticulously evaluate the most beautiful flower patterns. Antalya Flower Pattern Days is preparing to be a meaningful event that will both present a visual feast and highlight the creativity and love of nature of young people.
