Necmettin Akbaş, a 65-year-old Alzheimer's patient whose family was very worried after he was in danger of getting lost in recent days, will now be safe thanks to the smart watch application implemented by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality.
The Smart Watch application, which was launched under the leadership of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler, continues to make life easier for many citizens living alone or with special health conditions in Ordu. Necmettin Akbaş, who lives in the Perşembe district and struggles with Alzheimer's disease, also went missing due to his illness in recent days, but was found hours later with the intense efforts of law enforcement and his family.
Family Recounts Anxious Moments
Necmettin Akbaş’s son Tayfun Akbaş described those difficult moments with the following words: “My father went missing a few days ago, the weather was foggy and bad. When he didn’t come back, we went looking for him, we searched for 2 hours but couldn’t find him. We called the police. Then we found him fallen down next to our neighbor’s house.” This saddening incident pushed his family to seek a solution for their father’s safety, and they found the solution in the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality’s smart watch application.
Metropolitan Municipality Takes Quick Action
Upon the family’s request, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality teams immediately took action. Necmettin Akbaş and his family were visited at their home and the smart watch was delivered. The teams provided detailed information to both Necmettin Akbaş and his family about the use of the watch.

With the smartwatch in use, the family is now experiencing the comfort of being able to easily locate their father in the event of a possible loss. They expressed their gratitude to Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler for providing them with this valuable opportunity.
Necmettin Akbaş's son expressed his feelings as follows: "We needed this watch very much. We were having difficulty finding our father.
