The Mersin-Gaziantep High Standard Railway Line project, which will connect important industrial and commercial centers such as Mersin, Adana, Osmaniye and Gaziantep, is progressing rapidly. Travel Time Cut by One-Third
With the completion of the project, the current travel time between Mersin and Gaziantep will be reduced from 6 hours and 23 minutes to just 2 hours and 15 minutes. This significant time saving will significantly facilitate transportation for the local people and the business world. At the same time, thanks to the fact that railway transportation is more environmentally friendly than road transportation, carbon emissions will be significantly reduced, providing a sustainable transportation alternative.

With the commencement of the high-speed train line, logistics costs between Mersin, Adana, Osmaniye and Gaziantep will decrease significantly. These four major cities, which stand out in areas such as trade, culture, tourism, agriculture and gastronomy, will gain great momentum economically by being integrated with the high-speed train. This new connection will contribute significantly to economic growth by increasing commercial and social interaction in the region.
Millions of Passengers and Tons of Cargo to be Carried Annually
The project is expected to carry an average of 6,4 million passengers per year upon completion. In addition, traffic congestion on the highway will be reduced by transporting approximately 100 million tons of freight by rail. This will help make transportation safer and reduce highway maintenance costs.
Massive Infrastructure Work Continues
A huge infrastructure work is being carried out within the scope of the project. 21 million cubic meters of soil movement, 2 million cubic meters of reinforced concrete manufacturing and 77 thousand tons of rail laying are being carried out. In addition, the construction of 6 viaducts, 6 tunnels, 32 railway bridges, 30 highway overpasses, 55 highway underpasses, 266 culverts and 21 stations is also ongoing.
