KRAFTON, Inc. today announced that PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS has released a major update to celebrate its eighth anniversary. The game, which entered Steam Early Access in 2017 and became a pioneer in the Battle Royale genre, is celebrating this milestone with a variety of innovations and content updates. PUBG has achieved a record 3,25 million concurrent players and continues to evolve with player-focused improvements for its 8th anniversary.
Battlefields Transform with Birthday Decorations
To celebrate the 8th anniversary, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS has a variety of colorful and fun decorations on its maps. A giant Birthday Boy figure has appeared on the starting island of each map, where players can throw Golden Grenades. The sky lights up with fireworks before jumping out of the plane, and the ferry on the Erangel map turns into a colorful party ferry in honor of the 8th anniversary. Two bridges and the docks have also been decorated in an XNUMXth anniversary theme.
Collaboration and Anniversary Events with M83
The update features a collaboration with French electronic music group M83, known for their atmospheric and cinematic music. M83 has composed music for movies like Oblivion and Divergent, as well as famous songs like “Midnight City” and “Outro.” As a result of this collaboration, players will experience new lobby music. The music makes the pre-game atmosphere more exciting.
Anniversary Events and Awards
PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS players will be treated to a series of anniversary events. Players can participate in the “Web Event” via the in-game lobby banner to earn the 8th Anniversary Pack and Lucky G-Coin Box. They can also earn in-game rewards through Special Drop missions such as Happy 8th Anniversary, 8th Birthday Surprise, Lucky 8! and Mission 8. These include the 8th Birthday Crown emblem, name badges, Victory Dance emote, and Contraband Coupons.
Weapons Lab and New Modes
The update also includes significant changes to the Aim Punch system. Update 33.2 brings an improved aim punch system based on player feedback. Additionally, three new Team Deathmatch maps have been added to the arcade mode: Deston (Arena), Vikendi (Train Station), and Sanhok (Camp Bravo). The player limit for Fast Live mode has been increased from 48 to 64.
Other Improvements
With the update, significant changes were made to the Sanhok map, such as interior lighting improvements, more natural bot behavior, and increased Death Stream visibility. Survivor Pass: Spirit Squad was also introduced to players.
PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS celebrates its eighth anniversary with great enthusiasm, ushering in a golden age of gaming by introducing new content and rewards to players.
