Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made statements about the Samsun-Sarp High Speed Railway Project, which will significantly speed up transportation between Trabzon and Samsun. When the project is completed, the travel time between Samsun and Trabzon will drop to just 2 hours. This development will make transportation in the Black Sea Region faster and more comfortable.
Minister Uraloğlu stated that this railway line will not only connect Samsun and Trabzon, but also the Black Sea provinces such as Ordu, Giresun, Rize and Artvin. Thus, the transportation infrastructure in the region will be strengthened and intercity travel will be faster and more efficient.
Minister Uraloğlu also stated that expansion works have started in parallel with the increase in passengers at Trabzon Airport, and that the new airport project is also continuing rapidly. Until the new airport is completed, passengers will be provided with higher quality service with the improvements made at the current airport. In this context, the international arrivals terminal and CIP service building have been put into service, while the domestic terminal and international departures terminals will be completed in 2025. These investments aim to increase Trabzon's international transportation capacity.
