
Following the Kartepe Cable Car, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has accelerated the work to establish a cable car line in Darıca. The cable car project, which has attracted great attention in Kartepe, offers an important tourism and transportation alternative to the city, while the new cable car line to be built in Darıca will also facilitate access to the region. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın announced this project last year and shared plans to establish a cable car line to solve the problems experienced in transportation to Darıca National Garden.
First Tender for Darıca Cable Car Completed
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has started the project work for the cable car line to be built in Darıca. The first concrete step for the project was taken and the tender process for the “Preparation of Preliminary Projects and Approximate Cost Service for Darıca Cable Car Facility” was completed. A budget of 2 million 285 thousand TL was allocated for the tender. The winning company was SER-SE Teleferik Lokantacılık Gıda İnşaat Turizm Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi, which submitted a bid of 1 million 850 thousand TL. The company will complete the project within 60 days and start preparations for the next stage of the cable car line.
Details and Future of the Project
The Darıca cable car line will have a capacity of 10 passengers and will consist of two stations. The project will start from Farabi State Hospital and extend to the sea, aiming to reduce traffic congestion in the region. This project, which will improve Darıca's transportation infrastructure, also aims to increase tourist interest in the region. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality plans to both increase the quality of life in Darıca and solve transportation problems in the region with this project.
