
The poetry writing workshop, which will be held parallel to the exhibition The Story Takes Place in Istanbul, offers the opportunity to re-read and give meaning to both the exhibition and Istanbul. In the workshop, led by Nazmi Ağıl, participants interpret Istanbul with their own verses, inspired by the exhibition.
The workshops organized by Meşher in parallel with the exhibition The Story Takes Place in Istanbul continue with a poetry writing workshop for adults. The poetry writing workshop, led by poet, academic and translator Nazmi Ağıl, offers participants the opportunity to reinterpret and reinterpret both the exhibition and Istanbul.
The workshop, organized specifically for World Poetry Day, will take place on Friday, March 21 at 14.00:XNUMX. The workshop will examine images of Istanbul in different periods and the place of these images in poems. Participants will interpret Istanbul in their own language, inspired by the exhibition, and recreate it in their own poetic universe. The poems written with inspiration from the exhibition will bring together different periods of the city, allowing you to rediscover Istanbul in every word and line.

Who is Nazmi Agil?
Nazmi Ağıl graduated from Boğaziçi University English Language and Literature Department and completed his MA and PhD studies in the same department. Ağıl, who works as a faculty member in Koç University Comparative Literature Department, won the 1998 Yunus Nadi Poetry Award with his poetry book called Divorce File. Ağıl is known for his poetry books as well as for translating some of the works of important poets in Western literature into our language.
