Sign Language Course Starts in Diyarbakır

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality is opening a Sign Language Course for citizens in order to communicate more effectively with hearing impaired individuals.

The Department of Disabled and Elderly Services is opening a course to make the lives of hearing impaired individuals easier and to eliminate communication barriers.

Application date and place

Applications for the 2-month course, which will be staffed by an expert instructor, have started today. Applications will be made at the Sümerpark Common Living Area and will last until April 3.

The course, which will be held in the classrooms of the Department of Disabled and Elderly Services, will start on April 7.

Content of the training

The trainees will be given training on the basics of the alphabet, grammar concepts, family and environment, time terms, emotions, school and education, vehicles, living things, colors, geographical terms, law and banking terms, religious terms, provinces, countries, opposite words, sports terms, technology and media, mathematics and measurements, food and beverages, musical instruments, household goods, health terms and professions.

Certificate for successful trainees

Citizens who successfully complete the Sign Language Course will be given a certificate at the end of the course.
