Following the training they received, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Underwater Search and Rescue team organized a search and rescue exercise with a boat in the Dicle Dam.
The Underwater Search and Rescue team, working under the Fire Department, continues its work in summer and winter to find and rescue people who are lost or in danger in the water.
The 10-person team formed within the scope of the studies received practical training on topics such as "Using a compass underwater, diving signals, problem management, searching for and finding lost people and objects underwater, night diving, deep diving."
Search and rescue boat used in drill
Following the training, the team conducted a drill using a search and rescue boat in the Dicle Dam lake to perform challenging tasks such as responding to drowning cases, searching for people lost in floods or inundations, retrieving vehicles or objects submerged, examining underwater debris and organizing rescue operations when necessary.
