SRT has delivered two Colmar SL230D traction modules for shunting operations in the Al-Jubail region of Saudi Arabia. The delivery comes as part of SRT’s efforts to expand its influence in the international transport market. National carrier SAR had ordered nine similar modules from Italian company Colmar. These rolling stocks are manufactured in Fano, Italy.
Colmar SL230D: Powerful Performance and Payload Capacity
The Colmar SL230D is the most powerful traction module in the SRT series. Equipped with a 440 kW diesel engine, this module is capable of pulling 4.600 tonne trains. With a traction force of 230 kN and a speed of 31 km/h, this module is ideal for demanding railway shunting needs.
SRT's Portfolio Expansion: Colmar Technik Acquisition
In early 2025, SRT expanded its portfolio by purchasing the Italian company Colmar Technik. With this acquisition, SRT gained diesel and battery-powered traction modules with traction forces ranging from 16 kN to 230 kN. It also began offering a wider range of equipment, including excavators, loaders, cranes and various attachments.
International Achievements and Future Goals
SRT’s latest deliveries include three electric shunting units for the Korean operator Korail and three diesel traction modules for the Tren Maya project in Mexico. These deliveries confirm SRT’s successes in the international market and its growth targets in different regions. With these strategic steps, SRT aims to further strengthen its presence in the global transport sector.
