Ordu Metropolitan Municipality started the restoration work of the historical Cevat Bey Mansion located in Çamaş district.
Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, which has restored many historical mosques, fountains, monuments and other works throughout the province and brought them to the future, is also restoring historical houses and mansions in accordance with their originals. Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, which restored Selimiye Konak in Altınordu district and Yürürler Mansion in Ünye district and brought them to the future under the leadership of Mayor Güler, has also taken under protection Cevat Bey Mansion, one of the largest mansions in Ordu, located within the borders of Edirli Neighborhood in Çamaş district. The teams started the restoration of the historical mansion with the support of Ordu Governorship Investment Monitoring and Coordination Presidency (YİKOB).
WORKS STARTED
Built in 1909 by Osman Ağa from the Çamaş Family, the 18-room mansion, which has a soup kitchen and an oven in its courtyard, stands out as an example of civil architecture from the Ottoman Period. The building, which is a registered cultural asset reflecting the Old Anatolian Culture that has not undergone any cultural change in the Ordu region, will be renovated to maintain its functionality for many years without damaging its historical texture.
Teams have set up scaffolding and begun exterior blasting (surface cleaning) work on the century-old mansion, which has been abandoned for many years.
WILL BE PROVIDED TO ORDU TOURISM
Continuing its efforts to carry cultural assets bearing many experiences throughout the historical process to the future, the Metropolitan Municipality will also present the Cevat Bey Mansion to the contribution of Ordu tourism after the restoration work it will carry out.
