Ordu Metropolitan Municipality has started restoration work at the Haznedaroğlu Mansion, which is located within the urban and archaeological site borders of the Bolaman Neighborhood of Fatsa District and was built on the ruins of the Bolaman Castle in the 18th century.
Under the leadership of Mayor Güler, the Metropolitan Municipality, which restored many historical buildings and brought them to the future, restored Selimiye Konak in Altınordu district, Yürürler Mansion in Ünye district in the past 6 years, and started restoration work on Çamaş Cevat Bey Mansion, is now restoring Haznedaroğlu Mansion with the support of Ordu Governorship Investment Monitoring and Coordination Presidency (YİKOB).
The mansion, which was allocated to the Metropolitan Municipality for 12 years in accordance with the protocol signed with Ordu University to be used as a city museum and which bears all the features of the latest Turkish architecture, will be carried into the future with the work carried out.
BUILT IN THE 18TH CENTURY
It is thought that the castle, which forms the ground floor of the Haznedaroğlu Mansion, also known as the Kademoğlu Mansion and built on the castle ruins in the neighborhood, remained from the Genoese. The historical mansion, which has all the features of recent Turkish residential architecture, has a rectangular plan and consists of two floors above ground. The mansion, which has a chapel adjacent to the building on the southeast façade, proves that the history of the building dates back to the 18th century.
IT IS PLANNED TO BE PUT INTO SERVICE AS A CITY MUSEUM
Located among the natural beauties on the Black Sea coast, Bolaman Castle was built during the Byzantine period to serve as a watchtower and police station. A wooden mansion was built on the remains of the castle made of cut stones in the 18th century. The mansion, which has double bay windows and reflects the architectural features of the region, was restored to its original state by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Work has begun to turn Haznedaroğlu Mansion, which served as a restaurant for a while, into a city museum in terms of history and tourism. The historical mansion, which will be restored by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, will serve as the City Museum.
