World Poetry Day in Izmir: Poetry Readings in 14 Languages

Within the scope of World Poetry Day events, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will host the 22th Izmir World Poetry Day Meeting on March 4. Poems in 14 languages ​​will be read at the meeting.

March 21st World Poetry Day will be celebrated with a special meeting organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Culture and Arts Department and the International Activist Artists Union, which has representatives in 35 countries. The World Poetry Day Meeting, which invites the people of Izmir to the magical world of poetry, will be held on Saturday, March 22nd at 14.00:XNUMX in front of the Nazım Hikmet Monument in the Kültürpark Izmir Art courtyard. The guest of honor at the meeting, which will be organized with the slogan “Izmir Poetry Republic,” will be poet Özkan Mert. The Labor Awards will be given to poet Veysel Gültaş and poet Erdoğan Aytekin as part of the meeting, which will be hosted by Sevinç Öztürk and Selmina Melikoğlu.
