The project tender process of the Pertek Bridge, which will make transportation faster and more efficient by connecting Elazığ and Tunceli, has been completed. The bridge, which will be built over the Keban Dam Lake, will be 1.840 meters long and will significantly shorten transportation time. With this project, it is expected that the traffic problems that have been going on for years will be solved and the regional economy will develop.
Current Transportation Situation and Importance of the Bridge
The two existing routes between Elazığ and Tunceli cover a distance of approximately 140 kilometers via Kovancılar and this journey takes approximately 2 hours. The other route is completed by ferry via Pertek district, covering a distance of 70 kilometers, again in approximately 2 hours. However, with the construction of the Pertek Bridge, this distance will be shortened by approximately 70 kilometers and the travel time will be halved.
Great Contribution to the Regional Economy
AK Party Elazığ Deputy Mahmut Rıdvan Nazırlı drew attention to the fact that the Pertek Bridge will make serious contributions to the regional economy. Nazırlı stated that the current 140-kilometer highway distance will be reduced to 70 kilometers thanks to the bridge. He also emphasized that the bridge will create an important transportation axis on a wide route from Erzincan to Erzurum and from Malatya to Elazığ. He stated that this project will provide a significant economic breakthrough by connecting not only Elazığ and Tunceli but also other provinces in the region.
The Bridge Will Be Equivalent to the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge
Sharing details about the construction of the Pertek Bridge, Mahmut Rıdvan Nazırlı made statements about the dimensions and planned features of the bridge. The bridge will be a divided road with a total length of 7,2 kilometers and will be built with a 2-lane route, 2 inbound and 4 outbound. In addition, connecting roads will be built to the bridge in the provinces of Elazığ and Tunceli, ensuring smoother transportation. It is stated that the bridge will have a structurally equivalent clearance to the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.
