The Ori series has reached a new milestone by becoming highly acclaimed in the gaming world. While Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps were praised by critics, players have also embraced these unique metroidvania games with great interest. Xbox has made a big profit with these two games in recent years, and sales of the series continue to increase day by day.
Sales Figures of the Series
Thomas Mahler, co-founder and CEO of Moon Studios, shared a celebration of Ori and the Blind Forest’s 10th anniversary, announcing that the series has reached 15 million units sold worldwide. This figure only includes direct sales and does not include players generated from subscription services like Game Pass. This significant achievement further demonstrates the huge popularity of the Ori series.
Sales Figures Announced for the First Time
Interestingly, the 15 million sales figure was the first time the Ori series' sales were officially announced. In 2020, Ori and the Will of the Wisps was announced to have reached 2,8 million players, but Moon Studios and Microsoft had not made any official announcements before. This new statement proves once again how successful the series is in the gaming world and that it appeals to a wide range of players.
Available Platforms
The Ori series is currently available on popular platforms such as Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Both games have managed to reach a large player base on each platform, and their sales figures are a reflection of this. This success paints a very bright picture for the future of the Ori series.
