Natural Stones Weighing as Much as Two Eiffel Towers Will Be Exhibited at the Izmir Marble Fair

The countdown has begun for the MARBLE Izmir – 30th International Natural Stone and Technologies Fair, the gateway to the world for Turkish natural stone and the largest global gathering of its sector. The first natural stone was brought to the area for the fair to be held between April 9-12. A total of 20 thousand tons of block stone, weighing as much as two Eiffel Towers, will be exhibited at Fuar Izmir, Türkiye’s largest fairground.

Preparations are underway for the Izmir Marble Fair, one of the largest global events in the natural stone sector. MARBLE Izmir – International Natural Stone and Technologies Fair will open its doors for the 9th time at Fuar Izmir on April 12-30. Over a thousand colored blocks of natural stone and sectoral machines will be exhibited at the fair, which will host sector professionals from all over the world and 81 provinces of Türkiye. With the trade volume it provides, the fair will once again be a lifeline for the Turkish and city economy and will add strength to the natural stone sector.

The first natural stone at Fuar Izmir

The first natural stone brought to Fuar Izmir to be exhibited in 30th MARBLE Izmir was a marble block extracted from the quarry in İscehisar district of Afyonkarahisar and called Afyon Gold and Calacatta Viola in the international market. The marble block weighing tons was brought down to the exhibition area with meticulous work.

Giant stones weighing 20 tons each

The weight of each block to be exhibited at the fair can exceed 20 tons. The total weight of the marbles to be exhibited at the fair area, where more than a thousand blocks will be brought, will reach 10 thousand tons, twice the weight of the Eiffel Tower, which is known to weigh approximately 20 thousand tons.

Cumalıoğlu: We expect around a thousand participants

İZFAŞ General Manager Tuğçe Cumalıoğlu, who announced that the installation preparations have started at the Marble Fair, which is a pioneer with its participants from all over the world and the number of local and foreign visitors, said, “The first marble block was brought down to our area. We expect over a thousand blocks and around a thousand participants from all over the world. We will continue to contribute to industry and trade with the fairs we organize. We will continue to work for a stronger future and produce for this beautiful country.”
