Muğla was introduced to tourism professionals in Moscow

In line with the vision of 'World City Muğla', Muğla Metropolitan Municipality participated in the MITT Moscow Tourism Fair on March 18-20 to promote the cultural and historical values ​​of the city in the international arena.

The MITT Moscow Tourism Fair, which was held for the 31st time this year in Moscow, the capital of Russia and is considered one of the most prestigious tourism fairs in the world, took place on March 18-20, 2025. More than 20 Turkish tourism companies participated in the fair. In addition, two provinces of Türkiye that have a say in tourism, Muğla and Antalya Metropolitan Municipalities, also took their place in the fair.

At the MITT Moscow Tourism Fair, the Metropolitan Municipality introduced Muğla to the participants with its stand representing 13 valuable districts. The Metropolitan stand was also visited by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Moscow, Mr. Tanju Bilgiç. During the visit, detailed information was given to the Ambassador to Moscow, Tanju Bilgiç, about the tourism potential of Muğla, and the work carried out to further increase the tourism potential was discussed. In addition, the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality visited Hasan Eker, the Vice President of the TÜRSAB General Directorate Board of Directors, at the fair.

Increase in the Number of Foreign Tourists After International Promotions

Following the promotions at overseas tourism fairs in which Muğla Metropolitan Municipality participated with district municipality representatives and tourism stakeholders in order to introduce its tourism potential to world tourism professionals and increase its international recognition, an increase was observed in the number of foreign tourists coming to Muğla in 2025.

According to current data, 2024 people visited Muğla in January 10, while it increased by 309 percent to 2025 people in 18. While the number of foreign tourists entering Muğla in February 12 was 134, it increased by 2024 percent to 12 people in 726. In total, the number of visitors coming to Muğla from abroad increased by 2025 percent in 15 compared to the January-February period of 526, from 20 people to 2024 people.

President Aras; “Tourism Fairs Are the Most Important Meetings That Guide World Tourism”

The Coastal Aegean Municipalities Union and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras said that they are working to represent Muğla in the best way possible at tourism fairs that guide world tourism and to make Muğla the capital of tourism. He stated that the MITT Moscow Tourism Fair, one of the few fairs in the world that they recently participated in, was very productive.

President Aras said; “Tourism fairs are very important meetings where many countries of the world come together under one roof, introduce and explain their cities, and establish new and strong relationships. We took our place as Muğla in the MITT Moscow Tourism Fair, which is one of the most important tourism fairs in the world held in Moscow after London and Berlin. We told about Muğla to Russian citizens, who are among the countries that visit our World City Muğla the most, and to other countries that attended the fair. I would also like to thank our Moscow Ambassador Mr. Tanju Bilgiç, who visited our Muğla stand, for his visit. We will continue our efforts to bring our country and city to the place they deserve in tourism.”
