Within the scope of the “Cooperation Protocol on Joint Map Production” signed between the Ministry of National Education, Board of Education and Training and the Ministry of National Defense, General Directorate of Mapping, maps prepared in accordance with the basic principles and rules of cartography to be used in textbooks and educational materials were published. The published maps will be used in textbooks and educational materials to be printed and distributed starting from the 2025-2026 academic year.
Maps drawn in accordance with scientific principles were prepared to be included in textbooks and educational tools in order to be used more functionally in learning processes within the framework of the protocol.
Thus, it is aimed to prevent disinformation by ensuring that the maps in textbooks and educational tools contain accurate and complete information.
The maps prepared for use in textbooks and educational tools include Türkiye's geopolitical position, historical and regional development processes.
The published maps will be used in textbooks and educational tools that will be printed and distributed starting from the 2025-2026 academic year.
In the first stage, 6 maps were updated and 40 new maps were produced
While the 6 existing maps were updated, forty new maps were also produced. Maps that are still being worked on will be made available once completed.
On the other hand, the use of these maps will be the basis for draft textbooks and educational materials to be submitted to the Board of Education.
