
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy Metro Line was put into service a year ago and said, “Thus, we increased the length of the line we built and put into service throughout Istanbul to 161,8 kilometers.” Uraloğlu reported that the line in question carried 4,2 million passengers a year.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy section of the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy Metro was put into service of Istanbulites a year ago. Minister Uraloğlu made the following statements in his statement:
“The project of the century is MARMARAY and Gebze-Halkalı Along with the Suburban Line, we have completed and put into the service of Istanbulites many urban rail system lines such as Gayrettepe-Kağıthane-İstanbul Airport Metro and İstanbul Airport-Arnavutköy section, Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line, Levent-Hisarüstü Metro, Pendik-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro, Başakşehir-Çam and Sakura City Hospital-Kayaşehir Metro, Bakırköy Sahil-Bahçelievler-Güngören-Bağcılar Kirazlı Metro.”

Halkalı-Reminding that they opened the Arnavutköy-Istanbul Airport section of the Istanbul Airport Metro line in March last year, Uraloğlu said, “Thus, we increased the length of the line we built and put into service throughout Istanbul to 161,8 kilometers. Currently; Halkalı-Our Istanbul Airport line Halkalı"We continue construction work on the Arnavutköy Section and Altunizade-Çamlıca Mosque-Bosna Boulevard Metro," he said.
4,2 Million People Traveled
Minister Uraloğlu stated that the Arnavutköy-Istanbul Airport Metro Line, which reduces the travel time between Arnavutköy and Istanbul Airport to only 8 minutes, adds speed and comfort to Istanbul's urban transportation with its 4 stations in total, namely Arnavutköy, Taşoluk, Cargo Terminal and Istanbul Airport.
Providing information about the number of passengers transported between the Istanbul Airport-Cargo Terminal, which was opened on January 22, 2023, and the Taşoluk and Arnavutköy stations, which were put into service on March 19, 2024, Uraloğlu said, “A total of 4,2 million people traveled on the Arnavutköy-Istanbul Airport Line.”
Minister Uraloğlu underlined that 17,2 million passengers have been carried on the Gayrettepe – Istanbul Airport – Arnavutköy Metro Line since its opening, and said, “Our line broke the all-time record with 19 thousand 2025 passengers on February 37, 843.”
