
IMM is bringing free and unlimited internet to trams. IMM WiFi service is available on T1 (Bağcılar-Kabataş), T4 (Topkapı-Mescid-i Selam) and T5 (Cibali-Alibeyköy Cep Otogarı) tram lines were put into operation. Passengers will be able to receive uninterrupted internet service on these lines, which are used by approximately 1,5 million people per day. It is possible to access the IBB Wi-Fi service via the “Istanbul Senin” application.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) continues its digital transformation efforts without slowing down. In order to make internet access easier and faster in public transportation, T1 (Bağcılar-Kabataş), T4 (Topkapı-Mescid-i Selam) and T5 (Cibali-Alibeyköy Cep Otogarı) tram lines have been put into service with free and unlimited IMM Wi-Fi service. 203 WAGON STARTED AT 406 ACCESS POINTS
This project, implemented in collaboration with the IMM Department of Information Technology and İSTTELKOM AŞ, was designed to provide high performance even under heavy use. Thanks to 203 access points placed in 406 wagons, passengers will be able to maintain uninterrupted internet connection throughout their journey. It is aimed to expand free internet to metro and buses in the future.
IBB WiFi SERVES 6 MILLION USERS
Aiming to make technology accessible to everyone, IMM provides free internet service to approximately 13 million users at a total of 6 thousand access points across the city. Istanbulites can easily access the free IMM Wi-Fi service via the “Istanbul Senin” application.
