
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the start of the free Wi-Fi service offered by the Turkish State Railways (TCDD). This service was implemented to provide citizens with a more comfortable travel experience, especially on high-speed train lines and in stations and terminals in various cities. Minister Uraloğlu stated that 124 people have benefited from the service to date, and noted that an average of 713 users access the internet daily.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the free Wi-Fi service, which was launched especially on the High Speed Train (YHT) lines in Ankara, has been expanded to 63 stations and terminals located in strategic locations such as Istanbul, Eskişehir, Konya, Sivas, Malatya, Kars, Erzincan, Batman, Mardin, Diyarbakır and Van. Regarding the purpose of this service, Uraloğlu said, “Our aim is to provide our citizens with a more comfortable, modern and efficient travel experience.”
Minister Uraloğlu, who drew attention to the fact that digitalization and the internet have an important place in every aspect of life today, stated that the widespread use of mobile devices and the need for fast access to information have made the internet an indispensable tool. Underlining that internet access in public areas is now a necessity, the Minister stated that the Wi-Fi service in TCDD's train stations is an important step that will make citizens' lives easier in this context.
Support for the Business World and Efficient Use of Travel Times
Minister Uraloğlu stated that the free Wi-Fi service also makes significant contributions to the business world. Uraloğlu, who emphasized that especially business people and entrepreneurs have the opportunity to follow their work even while traveling, said, “We also support the business world with our Wi-Fi service. Our passengers can use their waiting times efficiently, which increases passenger satisfaction.” The statement, which emphasized that this service helps to use time more efficiently while traveling, stated that with digitalization, people’s travel experiences have become more modern and practical.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that the Wi-Fi service provided was designed according to the highest standards in terms of security. “Cyber security tests have been completed and no security vulnerabilities were detected in our institution’s network,” said Uraloğlu, adding that citizens can benefit from the internet service with peace of mind. The security of digital services ensures that users can easily browse the internet in a secure environment.
It was also emphasized that such digitalization projects strengthen the country's infrastructure and are important in terms of complying with world standards regarding modern transportation.
