
The Bocce and Dart team, consisting of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Nursing Home residents, is preparing to showcase their skills by participating in the 'Bursa International Sports Festival' that will start on April 2. The nursing home residents, the youngest of whom is 61 and the oldest is 89, say they are the most ambitious team in the tournament by training 3 days a week.
The 'Bursa International Sports Festival', which will be held for the first time this year under the leadership of the Bursa Governorate and the Metropolitan Municipality, in cooperation with the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, the Provincial Directorate of National Education, Bursa City Council and Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, will be held between April 2 and May 19. The festival, which will appeal to all ages, will be held in 17 different sports branches in all 17 districts. As part of the festival, competitions and tournaments will be held in many branches from football to basketball, from traditional archery to chess, from darts to volleyball. Applications for the festival, which is open to schools and universities as well as individual participation, can be made until Thursday, March 20.
Nursing home residents set an example for everyone
The Bocce and Dart team, consisting of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Nursing Home residents, will also take part in the festival. The 86-person Bocce and Dart team, which includes 87, 88, 89 and 16-year-old nursing home residents, trains three days a week at the Metropolitan Municipality Kaplıkaya Nursing Home. Working under the coordination of Bocce Coach Tayibe Uzer and Turkish Bocce Bowling and Dart Federation Bursa Provincial Representative Nihat Demir, the nursing home residents set an example for everyone with their passion for sports. The nursing home residents, who are preparing to outshine the youth with their performances by participating in the Bursa International Sports Festival, are aiming for the championship.
