Turkish Dairy, Meat, Food Industrialists and Businessmen Association (TÜSEDAD) President Sencer Solakoğlu made important contacts during his 'business development trip' to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). President Sencer Solakoğlu, who also visited the Near East University campus, was accompanied by Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Organization Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel and Rector of the Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ welcomed President Sencer Solakoğlu and Minister Hüseyin Çavuş. The delegation also visited the Near East University Animal Hospital, Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, GÜNSEL and the Cyprus Car Museum.
First stop is Near East University Animal Hospital
The first stop of the campus visit was the Near East University Animal Hospital. Animal Hospital Chief Physician Dr. Mehmet İsfendiyaroğlu provided detailed information to the delegation about the hospital's infrastructure, the veterinary services it offers, and advanced diagnostic and treatment opportunities. Near East University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Deniz Seyrek İntaş provided information about the veterinary education provided within the faculty.
Turkey Milk, Meat, Food Industrialists and Businessmen Association President Sencer Solakoğlu and Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş also attended the veterinary students' lesson. Sencer Solakoğlu, who is also one of Türkiye's largest animal breeders, chatted with the students about animal health, animal husbandry policies and innovations in the sector.
GÜNSEL tested B9
Another stop on the visit was the TRNC’s domestic automobile, GÜNSEL. President Sencer Solakoğlu took a test drive of GÜNSEL’s first model, the B9. President Sencer Solakoğlu, who received information about the scientific studies at the Near East University as well as the art, science and technology projects carried out on the campus, also visited the Cyprus Car Museum. During his visit to the museum, President Sencer Solakoğlu examined rare collections and old car models reflecting the automobile history of Cyprus and received information about the century-old collections that shed light on the history of the automobile world.
Sencer Solakoğlu: “For a successful veterinary practice, it is of great importance to be able to take risks, use new technologies such as artificial intelligence, perform data analysis and integrate modern systems into operation.”
TÜSEDAD President Sencer Solakoğlu, who attended the veterinary students' class, emphasized the opportunities offered by Near East University and said to the students, "You are very lucky to receive education at such a university." Emphasizing that veterinarians should also update themselves according to new conditions, Solakoğlu gave examples of how they use artificial intelligence-supported applications and various programs on three of his farms. Emphasizing that scientific data has been archived on his farms for many years, Solakoğlu stated that they make various comparisons thanks to this.
Stating that veterinary medicine is no longer based solely on theoretical knowledge or pharmaceutical science, Solakoğlu emphasized that innovative technologies and scientific data must be analyzed effectively. President Solakoğlu said, “In my opinion, it is not enough to have a diploma for a successful veterinary practice; it is also of great importance to be able to take risks, use new technologies such as artificial intelligence, perform data analysis and integrate modern systems into the process.”
