A Parking Lot for 83 Vehicles is Being Built on the Alikahya Tram Line Route

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality is working intensively on the Alikahya Stadium Tram Line project. Teams are building an 83-vehicle capacity open parking lot on the tram route on Sultan Murat Street in order to provide citizens with easier access to rail transportation.

PARKING LOT CONSTRUCTION WITH 83 VEHICLE CAPACITY

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality is working non-stop on the “Alikahya Stadium Tram Line” project, which is 3 meters long in order to both relieve Alikahya traffic and facilitate access to Kocaeli Stadium. As part of the work, the metropolitan teams are building open parking lots with a total capacity of 800 vehicles in 3 different areas on the Sultan Murat Street route. Thus, citizens will be able to leave their vehicles in the parking lots to be built by the Metropolitan Municipality and have easier access to rail transportation.

BUSY WORK FROM THE METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY

Working day and night for a more livable Kocaeli with projects that will make daily lives easier for citizens, the Metropolitan Municipality is working intensively to bring the Alikahya Stadium Tram Line project, which starts from the Izmit Intercity Bus Terminal, to the Kocaeli Stadium. The teams, which have completed 1.4 kilometer of the first stage of the project, which is 1 kilometers, are welding the rails laid in the sections where the infrastructure is completed.

TRAFFIC WILL BE RELIEVED WHEN THE PROJECT IS COMPLETED

Metropolitan teams have started an important study to relieve the traffic density and pedestrian circulation on Sultan Murat Street in Alikahya Fatih Neighborhood. Considering the traffic and pedestrian movement expected to occur on Sultan Murat Street after the tram line is put into operation, Metropolitan teams will build an open parking lot with a total capacity of 3 vehicles in 83 separate areas on the street route. The asphalt paving and curb work of the first stage of the parking lot construction has been completed.

THERE IS NO STOP IN THE WORK

Various infrastructure and superstructure works will be carried out to prevent any negativity in traffic flow. The works to be carried out in the open parking lot, which has started construction, include rainwater line and grating of various diameters, 500 meters of curb and 550 square meters of paving stone, 830 cubic meters of excavation and 100 cubic meters of filling work, 990 tons of plant-mix foundation and 550 tons of asphalt application. In addition, horizontal and vertical marking works will be carried out.

PARKING LOT WILL BE COMPLETED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

The construction of the parking lot is planned to be completed as soon as possible so that businesses and residents in the area are not negatively affected by this process. This project also aims to ease the traffic flow on Sultan Murat Street, make transportation in the area more efficient, and increase the quality of life of residents.
