Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar examined the ongoing works on the metrobus line on site. Stating that they will be the second city in Türkiye in transportation with metrobus and that the works on the project, which was implemented with an investment of approximately 1 billion liras, are continuing at full speed, Alemdar said that approximately 6 kilometers of the line has been completed.
The city's transportation future
Stating that they will introduce comfortable and fast transportation to the people of Sakarya, Alemdar said, “We continue to introduce Sakarya to alternative transportation vehicles. We are implementing many transportation projects by saying ‘It’s Sakarya Time for Transportation’. We are undertaking projects that will shape the transportation future of the city, such as ADARAY, which we have brought back to our city, and the rail system line that is in the project tender phase. We will bring distant places closer with our metrobus line and introduce comfortable and fast transportation to the people of Sakarya. The work continues at full speed.”
6 kilometers
Alemdar said: “We examined the ongoing road construction works of our Metrobus line, which will provide service at 11 stations between the National Garden and the City Hospital under construction.
Our teams are at the 6th kilometer of road work, we had recently launched a tender for the construction of stops on the line, and many works such as culvert manufacturing and the transportation of power lines are simultaneously ongoing. Our citizens will have access to metrobus transportation as soon as possible,” he said.
Trouble-free infrastructure
In the project area, works such as culvert walls, construction of bridges according to the road and reinforced concrete structures around them, excavation and filling works, arrangement of energy lines, construction of rain and drinking water lines are progressing step by step.
The trees on the metrobus line are being uprooted and moved to their new locations in the Wildlife Campus.
It will serve at 11 stations
11 different stations determined in the Metrobus project: It will serve between Korucuk (City Hospital) - Millet Bahçesi and will serve the City Hospital, Korucuk Hospital, Cevat Ayhan Science High School, Camili, (Governor's Office) Karaman, (Evrenköy) Karakamış, Schools Area, Yazlık-Şeker Neighborhood, Şeker Mosque, Millet Bahçesi.
