2025 LGS Application and Application Guide Published

The application and application guide for the central exam within the scope of the Transition to High Schools System (LGS) to be held on June 15, 2025, has been published by the Ministry of National Education. According to the guide, students who want to take the exam will be able to apply through the e-School system between April 2-11, 2025.

The Central Exam Application and Implementation Guide for Secondary Education Institutions that will Admit Students through Exams in 2025 has been published on the address “www.meb.gov.tr”.

The guide includes the procedures and principles regarding the central exam to be held to select students studying in the 8th grade of public and private secondary schools, imam hatip secondary schools for science high schools, social sciences high schools, Anatolian high schools, Anatolian imam hatip high schools, project schools, and Anatolian technical programs of vocational and technical Anatolian high schools.

Applications for the central exam to be held on June 15, 2025 within the scope of LGS will be made between April 2-11, 2025. Students who wish to take the exam, where participation is optional, can make their applications through the e-School system (eokul.meb.gov.tr).

School principals will guide students through the application process. Applications will be approved by school principals by April 14, 2025.

Students studying in schools abroad that are not registered with the e-School system will apply by filling out the form in the published guide. Students will be able to follow the status of their applications electronically.

Scope of the exam

The exam will be based on the achievements in the 8th grade curriculum and will include questions that will measure students' skills such as reading comprehension, interpretation, inference, problem solving, analysis, critical thinking, and the scientific process.

Entry documents will be announced from June 4

Photo exam entry documents will be received electronically by school principals as of June 4, 2025, and will be delivered to students after being sealed and approved.

Students will be required to bring their photo-approved entrance documents and valid ID documents with them when they come to the exam.

Exam content and duration

In the first session, students will be asked 50 questions from Turkish, Turkish Revolution History and Kemalism, religious culture and moral knowledge, and foreign language courses and will be given 75 minutes. In the second session, students will be asked 40 questions from mathematics and science courses and will be given 80 minutes.

The number of correct and incorrect answers for each subtest in the verbal and numerical areas will be determined. The raw score for each subtest for each student will be calculated by subtracting one-third of the number of incorrect answers from the number of correct answers for the relevant test.

Results will be announced on July 11

Exam results will be announced on “www.meb.gov.tr” on July 11. Exam result documents will not be sent by post.

Preference procedures will be held between July 14-24, 2025. Placement results and vacant quotas will be announced on August 4, 2025.

The 1st and 2nd transfer preference applications and results, which are the basis for placement, will be held between 4-14 August 2025.
