FNSS Fire Support Vehicles in Sarıkamış Exercise

Winter Exercise-2025, organized by the Turkish Armed Forces to test and develop warfare capabilities in harsh winter conditions, is being conducted between January 20 and February 7.

The KAPLAN STA with Remote Controlled Anti-Tank Turret, originally developed and delivered by FNSS within the scope of the projects carried out by the Presidency of Defense Industries to meet the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces, and the KAPLAN KMC vehicles selected for ROKETSAN's KMC project are taking part in the exercise.

Visitors will be able to visit the FNSS stand between February 3rd and 6th and get detailed information about FNSS products and services.

KAPLAN STA

Designed specifically for use in operations as anti-tank and guided missile carriers, STAs are versatile and agile platforms that combine the mobility and tactical maneuverability of a lightly armored combat vehicle with increased protection and firepower. In addition to their weapon carrier features, the platforms have a modular design that can be adapted to various mission requirements such as fire direction, fortification, reconnaissance, internal security missions and convoy protection, allowing different weapon systems and equipment to be easily integrated, providing flexibility and versatility to meet different operational needs. The optimized silhouettes and power-to-weight ratios of the vehicles, combined with advanced suspension systems, allow them to maneuver at high speeds on different terrains and in all weather conditions. The platform has amphibious features.

Developed in accordance with the requirements of the STA Project, the Remote Controlled Anti-Tank Tower (RCT) can be equipped with both KORNET-E and OMTAS missiles. Equipped with two missile systems that require very different integration approaches, RCT meets this challenging requirement with its basic structure developed jointly for each missile system and a design based on modular subsystems. RCT is designed to be suitable for the integration of different missiles due to its design, and this feature provides great flexibility to its users. KAPLAN Weapon Carrier Vehicles are the most important element of the unit fire support plan due to their effective firepower and maneuverability.

ROKETSAN KMC WEAPON SYSTEM PLATFORM TIGER

KAPLAN; It is a new generation armored combat vehicle with a power-to-weight ratio of 21 Hp/ton depending on the combat weight, automatic transmission, and the ability to move together with main battle tanks. The vehicle has a platform design that allows it to perform all kinds of tasks by integrating different subsystems.

The crawler, 5-wheeled and low silhouette KAPLAN is resistant to cold and hot climate conditions and has the ability to move at high speed on muddy/rough terrains, asphalt or stabilized roads. The advanced suspension track system is designed to reduce vibration in the vehicle and increase road holding.

KAPLAN is one of the few vehicles in its class that has amphibious features. The two water propulsion systems at the rear allow operations in deep and flowing waters. It also allows the user to enter the water without any preparation at the water's edge.

There are laser-protected glass periscopes that allow the driver to watch outside from inside the vehicle and have all-round visibility. There is also a driver thermal camera system that allows the driver to drive in the dark.
