Turkish Airline Traffic Reached 175 Flights in January

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu reported that 2025 million 16 thousand 223 passengers traveled by air in January 575. Minister Uraloğlu said, “Airplane traffic reached 175 thousand 353 compared to the same month last year.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu evaluated the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ)'s airline, passenger and cargo data for January 2025. Noting that the number of aircraft landing and taking off at passenger and environmentally friendly airports was 72 on domestic lines and 517 on international lines, Uraoğlu said, “Thus, total aircraft traffic reached 58, including overflights. Total aircraft traffic, including overflights, increased by 293 percent compared to the same month in 175.”

Minister Uraloğlu stated that domestic passenger traffic was 7 million 541 thousand 325 and international passenger traffic was 8 million 676 thousand 918 in January. Noting that a total of 16 million 223 thousand 575 passengers traveled, including direct transit passengers, Uraloğlu said, “When passenger traffic is compared to the same month in 2024, there has been a 9,9 percent increase in total passenger traffic, including direct transit.”

Uraloğlu also stated that 68 thousand 813 tons of cargo was carried on domestic lines and 296 thousand 776 tons on international lines in January, and that the cargo carried in a month reached 365 thousand 589 tons.

Istanbul Airport Served 6 Million 434 Thousand 570 Passengers

Minister Uraloğlu stated that in January, the plane traffic at Istanbul Airport, one of Turkey's mega projects, reached 9 in total, 3 on domestic lines and 33 on international lines.

Uraloğlu also shared information about passenger traffic and made the following statement:

“A total of 1 million 233 thousand 651 passengers were served at this airport, 5 million 200 thousand 919 on domestic flights and 6 million 434 thousand 570 on international flights. When the passenger traffic served in January 2025 was compared to the same month in 2024, the total passenger traffic increased by 7 percent.”

21 Aircraft Traffic Occurred at Sabiha Gökçen

Underlining that the passenger traffic at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport increased by 16 percent compared to the same month last year, Uraloğlu said, “Passenger traffic was 1 million 579 thousand 308 in domestic lines and 2 million 88 thousand 194 in international lines, totaling 3 million 667 thousand 502. Aircraft traffic was 9 thousand 102 in domestic lines and 12 thousand 622 in international lines, totaling 21 thousand 724.” Uraloğlu also reported that the aircraft traffic at Istanbul Atatürk Airport was 2 thousand 281 in the month in question.

Tourism Centers Hosted 2 Million 90 Thousand 646 Passengers in One Month

Minister Uraloğlu noted that the number of passengers served at airports in tourism centers reached 1 million 284 thousand 451 in total, 806 million 195 thousand 2 in domestic flights and 90 thousand 646 in international flights. Minister Uraloğlu stated that there was a total of 11 thousand 508 aircraft traffic, 6 thousand 167 in domestic flights and 17 thousand 675 in international flights, and continued his words as follows:

“In the first month of the new year, 840 thousand 145 passengers were served at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, 1 million 20 thousand 962 passengers were served at Antalya Airport, and 82 thousand 92 passengers were served at Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport. While a total of 104 thousand 585 passengers were served at Muğla Milas-Bodrum Airport, a total of 42 thousand 862 passengers were served at Gazipaşa Alanya Airport.”
