Türkiye and Netherlands to Host UN Transportation Committee

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu will hold talks in Geneva as part of the 87th Session of the UN Economic Commission for Europe Internal Transport Committee. Minister Uraloğlu will hold talks on sustainable transport policies, digitalization and international cooperation at the committee, where Turkey and the Netherlands will host the “High Level Policy Section”.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu will attend the 10th Session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Internal Transport Committee to be held in Geneva, Switzerland on February 11-2025, 87, and the events to be organized on the occasion of the meeting. Minister Uraloğlu will hold talks on sustainability, digitalization and global connectivity in the transport sector at the committee, where Turkey and the Netherlands will host the “High Level Policy Section.”

Critical Discussions to be Held in Internal Transportation Committee

The sessions to be held within the scope of the UNECE Internal Transport Committee will discuss policies that will shape the future of transportation, transformations in the global supply chain and digital infrastructure work.

The Ministerial Roundtable Meeting hosted by Minister Uraloğlu will discuss the promotion of domestic transportation connections. During the meeting, countries will share their views on the connectivity and sustainability of regional and interregional transportation. Ministers are expected to make important assessments in the session titled “Successes and Challenges in Domestic Transportation on the Road to 2030” with statements on their work and commitments on transportation corridors.

Uraloğlu Will Also Attend the Special Ministerial Meeting on the Future of Transportation

Minister Uraloğlu will also attend the “Special Ministerial Meeting on the Future of Transport” to be organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the World Economic Forum on February 10, 2025 on the occasion of the event. The meeting will discuss innovative approaches such as preparing a transformation map of current trends and driving forces reflecting the course of domestic transport using built-in artificial intelligence capabilities.

During the event, ministers will also determine a strategic vision for the future of transportation and evaluate opportunities to develop public and private sector collaborations in the Strategic Dialogue Exchange sessions.

Minister Uraloğlu is expected to make important contacts on the most up-to-date information and predictions regarding developments in the field of transportation worldwide within the scope of the meetings.
