Yumaklı, who stated that they included 7 species in hunting and 4 species in aquaculture in the scope of production planning within the scope of the planning, said, “In addition, we brought additional technical criteria supports to basic supports within the scope of our new support model in 2003 for aquaculture, which we have included in the scope of support since 2024. Thus, our family businesses and union member businesses have had the opportunity to benefit from more support.”
EXPORT RECORD IN THE HISTORY OF THE REPUBLIC
Underlining that the Turkish aquaculture sector is a net exporter, Yumaklı said, “In parallel with the growth of our aquaculture sector and developments in aquaculture production and processing technologies, there has been a significant increase in our country’s aquaculture exports. Our country continues to maintain its exporter position in aquaculture foreign trade. In recent years, Turkey’s self-sufficiency rate in aquaculture trade has been at 120 percent. In fact, our export figures clearly demonstrate this. Last year, we exported aquaculture to 97 countries. Our aquaculture exports, which were 2023 billion dollars in 1,7, were recorded as 2024 billion 2 million dollars in 16. With this figure, we have reached the highest aquaculture exports in history.”
MINISTER YUMAKLI THANKED THE AQUATIC PRODUCTS SECTOR
Yumaklı, who stated that sea bass and sea bream are the top products in aquaculture exports, said, “We will continue our efforts with all our might, as we have done so far, to protect and ensure the sustainability of our aquaculture resources in our seas and inland waters, and to develop our aquaculture and trade. I would like to thank our fishermen, breeders and our sector for their efforts and contributions to our success.”
