The domestic and national air traffic control simulator system atcTRsim (Air Traffic Control Tower and Radar Simulator), developed in cooperation with TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and the State Airports Authority (DHMİ), has been comprehensively renewed in order to provide modern solutions for air traffic control training.
The project brings Turkey's air traffic control training infrastructure to international standards while leading the sector with advanced operational scenarios and innovative simulation technologies.
Innovative Simulator Technologies
Within the scope of the project, 180-degree Aerodrome Control Simulators were installed at Esenboğa Aviation Academy and Approach/Area Control Simulators were installed at the Air Traffic Control Center. In addition, the 3D model of Sabiha Gökçen Airport was integrated into the existing simulator infrastructure at Istanbul Atatürk Airport. This infrastructure enables trainee controllers to develop their theoretical knowledge in practice and to meet the advanced training needs of active controllers.
Advanced Software and Training Infrastructure
With the updates in atcTRsim software, the preparation of the training infrastructure for the triple independent parallel runway operations at Istanbul Airport was ensured. The comprehensive simulation scenarios developed for Sabiha Gökçen and Istanbul Airport diversified the training processes and made significant contributions to the increase of safety standards in air traffic management.
Local and National Solutions in Aviation Traffic Control Training
These innovative projects, implemented in collaboration with TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and DHMİ, enable our country to increase its competitive power in air traffic control training at international standards. The atcTRsim software, whose foundations were laid in 2009, is an important step towards achieving training and operational excellence goals in the aviation sector by being modernized with local and national resources.
The atcTRsim project offers an infrastructure that meets the needs of the future in terms of both training and operational scenarios. AtcTRsim, which also pioneers many projects carried out in partnership with BİLGEM and DHMİ, will be a critical milestone in Turkey's aviation training and operational support systems.
