AKSU STREAM BRIDGE STRENGTHENED
Civil Engineer Gamze Kılınç, working at the Department of Technical Affairs, Investments Branch Directorate, provided the following information about the reinforcement work of the bridge piers: “As Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, we determined that the Aksu Stream Bridge located on the D400 Highway in Aksu district had scours on the bridge piers due to the disruption of the flow direction of the stream. We realized that the bored piles of the bridge were exposed due to these scours. We started the work quickly. In addition to reinforcing the bridge piers where the scours occurred, we also took the necessary precautions on the other piers and carried out the necessary filling cleaning by demolishing the culverts that disrupted the flow of water in the stream. We have completed our improvement work quickly without obstructing the traffic flow.”
