Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay announced good news about the KONYARAY Commuter Line, one of the most important transportation investments in Konya's history.
Stating that the 19.7-kilometer KONYARAY Commuter Line, which is currently under construction, will be extended, Mayor Altay said, “A decision was made to extend the KONYARAY Commuter Line, which is one of the historical projects for the transportation of our city and has 19.7 kilometers in length and 13 stations, by adding 3,26 kilometers to the line to Aşağıpınarbaşı. Thus, the total line length of the first phase of our Commuter Project has increased to 23 kilometers and the number of stations has increased to 14.”
“WE ARE BUILDING A COMPLETE SUBURBAN IN OUR CITY”
Noting that they have implemented a zoning application for approximately 10 thousand houses in Aşağıpınarbaşı, President Altay said, “A project will be implemented where we provide transportation from this area where approximately 30-40 thousand people can live, to the city and Meram Train Station with KONYARAY. We hope to complete the project in 2026. We plan to open the project, which is currently at the 50% stage, in 2027. I would like to thank our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, our Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and our TCDD General Manager Veysi Kurt for these services. May it bring good luck to our Konya.”
