Pedestrian Safety Button Pressed in Balıkesir

Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality has installed a push-button signaling system in front of Zağnos Paşa Middle School and Yakup Mihriye Akdeniz Anatolian Imam Hatip High School on Cengiz Topel Street to ensure pedestrian safety for students. Students and pedestrians will only need to touch the button to cross the street more safely.

Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality continues its work without slowing down, especially in front of schools, to ensure pedestrian safety. In this context, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department is installing signaling systems at points deemed necessary in various parts of the city. Thanks to the system, pedestrians will be able to cross the street in a safe and controlled manner. Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın, who continues to implement student-friendly projects and does not stand by them, did not leave parents' request for signaling unanswered in order to ensure children's life safety in front of schools. In line with Mayor Akın's instructions, a Push-Button Pedestrian Crossing Signaling System was installed on the school crossing in front of Zağnos Paşa Middle School and Yakup Mihriye Akdeniz Anatolian Imam Hatip High School on Cengiz Topel Street. This system aims to prevent possible accidents that may occur while students are crossing the street.

GREEN LIGHT FOR PEDESTRIANS

Stating that they have started signaling system work to make pedestrians crossing the street safer at certain points of the city, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Traffic Services Branch Manager Burçin Bölükler said, “We have activated the push-button signaling pedestrian crossing to ensure the safety of our pedestrians and students. At the same time, our teams affiliated with the Transportation Inspection Branch Directorate are distributing brochures to our students so that they are aware of the responsibility of service drivers and guide personnel. Our work to activate the signaling system at different points of the city continues with the instructions of our Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın.”
