'Nature's Scream' Exhibition Opened in Mamak

The “Scream of Nature” exhibition, consisting of 26 photographs that won the photography competition organized by the METU Alumni Association with a different theme every year and for the fourth time this year, was opened in Mamak.

The “Scream of Nature” exhibition organized by the METU Graduates Association to draw attention to the destruction of nature was opened. The exhibition, hosted by the Mamak Municipality and held at the Musiki Muallim Mektebi Exhibition Hall, was attended by Mamak Mayor Veli Gündüz Şahin, METU Graduates Association board members, artists and many guests.

The “Scream of Nature” exhibition, prepared within the scope of the 4th Photography Contest organized by the METU Alumni Association, met with art lovers in order to draw attention to the destruction of nature. The exhibition, which includes photos taken from the METU Forest, steppe and Lake Eymir, reveals the threats nature faces.

The event, which can be visited between February 15-22, aims to tell the story of the damage done to nature through art. Organized to raise environmental awareness and create awareness for the protection of natural areas, the exhibition particularly emphasizes issues such as the disruption of the ecological balance, concreting and climate change.

The exhibition brings to light from an artistic perspective how natural habitats are being destroyed by human intervention. The exhibition, which will feature striking photographs of issues such as urban transformation, deforestation and pollution of water resources, aims to convey the current state of nature.
