Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump.
The presidents discussed issues related to the exchange of citizens of Russia and the United States. Trump assured that the American side would comply with all agreements reached.
The issue of a solution in Ukraine was also discussed. Donald Trump spoke in favor of a rapid cessation of hostilities and a peaceful resolution of the issue. Vladimir Putin stated that the root causes of the conflict should be eliminated and agreed with Donald Trump that a long-term solution could be achieved through peaceful negotiations.
Putin also supported one of Trump's main theses that it is time for countries to work together.
The meeting discussed the Middle East solution, Iran's nuclear program and Russia-US bilateral relations in the economic sphere.
The Russian President invited the US President to Moscow and expressed his readiness to host American officials in Russia in areas of mutual interest, including the Ukrainian issue.
Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump agreed to continue private talks, as well as personal meetings.
