A snow festival was organized in the Aybastı Perşembe Plateau, famous for its meanders, at an altitude of 1500 meters, with the cooperation of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality and Aybastı Municipality. The festival, which saw intense participation, witnessed colorful scenes.
With the slogan of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler, “Not 3 months, 12 months Ordu”, four seasons are spent to the fullest in Ordu. The Ordu plateaus, which are the center of attention of tourists in the summer months, also attract attention in the winter months with festivals organized under the leadership of the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality.
In this context, a snow festival was organized in Perşembe Plateau in the Aybastı district of Ordu. The festival, attended by thousands of citizens, produced colorful images. In the festival, which was also attended by President Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler, sledging, canoeing, snow wrestling, janissary show and snowman competitions were organized.
PRESIDENT GÜLER: “LIVE THE ORDU FOR 12 MONTHS”
Underlining that the interest in the plateaus has increased with the spread of snow festivals in Ordu, Mayor Güler said that the snow festival held in Aybastı, the land of the meanders, is attracting more and more attention every day.
President Güler made the following statements in his statement:
“Being at this point where 6 thousand of our martyrs were given has a special importance for us. We will protect and preserve these plateaus that our ancestors entrusted to us in the best way possible. I am very happy to be with you here today. When we took office, there was no winter festival on our Perşembe plateau. As a result of the work we have done, snow festivals are now held in almost all of our plateaus. There is beautiful snow here today as well. You have filled the area. Enjoy the white cover. I would like to emphasize this. Our hearts are big, our possibilities are very good, and in that respect, we provide a peaceful and beautiful municipality service. Enjoy the snow to the fullest with our potatoes, beets and other local treats. We are happy to see you here. I would like to thank each and every one of you for your participation.”

Aybastı Mayor İzzet Gündoğar, who made a speech at the festival, said, “I am very happy to host you, our valued guests, at the Aybastı Perşembe Plateau, which has an altitude of 1500 meters.”

Citizens who attended the festival said that these events introducing the plateaus should be held every winter season.
