Şanlıurfa Provincial Health Directorate provides free health services during working hours with its Healthy Life Centers located in Eyyübiye, Haliliye No. 1, Bamyasuyu, Akçakale and Viranşehir districts.
The Smoking Cessation Polyclinics located in these centers play an important role in the fight against addiction. Muharrem Öncül, 50, who has been struggling with smoking addiction for many years, stated that he regained his health by benefiting from these services.
Muharrem Öncül stated that he has been smoking for about 35 years and although he wanted to quit for a long time, he did not have the courage. Öncül stated that he had tried many times before but failed, and thanks to the Smoking Cessation Polyclinic located in the Healthy Life Center, he managed to quit smoking.
Öncül stated that he had meetings with specialist doctors after applying to the polyclinic, and that a special smoking cessation plan was prepared for him and that he was given medication during this process.
Öncül, who stated that before quitting smoking he had difficulty walking, had shortness of breath while climbing stairs and constantly coughed, said, “These complaints have greatly decreased after quitting smoking. I can now breathe more easily, I do not have difficulty walking and I can easily climb stairs.”
Şanlıurfa Provincial Health Directorate invited all citizens who want to quit smoking to Healthy Life Centers and stated that they will continue to support a healthy life.
