Pedestrian Overpasses in Kocaeli Are Being Cleared of Snow

Snow work continues all around Kocaeli. Metropolitan teams are clearing snow-covered roads and overpasses

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality ensures the safety of citizens with the measures it takes against adverse weather conditions. Teams that take precautions against icing on overpasses with special solutions and salting continue their snow work all around the city.

SNOW CLEANING ON PAVEMENTS AND OVERPASSES

The Metropolitan Municipality, which has been put on alert with the effective snowfall in Kocaeli, has opened all roads and continues salting and pavement cleaning work to ensure the safety of pedestrians. The teams, who clean the overpasses, family health centers, bus stops, front of public buildings, places of worship and various points of the districts against the negative effects of snowfall, are making intense efforts to ensure safe passage at the most important points of transportation.

DEICING SOLUTION IS USED

While no significant traffic problems have been experienced in the province as a result of the work carried out, teams affiliated with the Department of Parks and Gardens are carrying out snow clearing and salting work in underpasses and overpasses and squares where pedestrian movement is intense. Ice, which forms especially on the stairs of overpasses due to the accumulation of snow at night, is cleaned by pouring de-icing solution.

ALL NECESSARY MEASURES HAVE BEEN TAKEN

The aim is to ensure the safety of both vehicle and pedestrian traffic with the shoveling and salting operations carried out on snow-covered roads, areas at risk of heavy ice and public areas. The teams continue all these works at great speed and take the necessary precautions so that citizens can continue their daily lives comfortably without being affected by the negativities. On the other hand, the Metropolitan authorities warned citizens not to go to the regions where snowfall is effective with their vehicles without chains and snow tires due to adverse weather conditions.
