The “We Are in Libraries” project is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in line with the “Turkey Century Education Model”, to develop the reading culture of students, to enable them to get to know the libraries in the cities they live in, and to use libraries with workshops as out-of-school learning environments for students.
The Turkish language course curriculum, prepared within the scope of the Turkey Century Education Model, aims to enable students to use the language competently, discover the richness of the Turkish language, and adopt Turkish culture and values through the language.
In this context, the “We are in Libraries” project was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in order to help students develop their reading culture, get to know libraries, and use various workshops in libraries for learning.
Within the scope of the project, it is aimed for primary and secondary school students to regularly visit libraries affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and to get to know the functioning of the libraries closely. In addition, it is aimed to use the libraries with workshops as an out-of-school learning environment for students.
Course content will be processed practically in libraries.
As part of the event, students will be provided with plans to visit libraries and will be introduced to the functioning of these institutions under the guidance of library staff. In addition, students wishing to conduct research will be informed about the book borrowing and return processes.
On the other hand, the course content determined by the schools will be taught practically in libraries with workshops.
The “We are in Libraries” project will be defined centrally and the students participating in the program will be registered in the “social activity module”.
