
The first eliminations of the National Young Soloist Competition, organized in cooperation with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Rotary Region 2440 and Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory, started at Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center (AASSM).
The competition will be held in two separate categories between February 17-23.
There are two categories in the competition: “University” and “Young Professional.” Candidates who are still in education compete in the “University” category, while those who are seniors or graduates compete in the “Young Professional” category. The first eliminations began at the AASSM Small Stage and will continue on February 18-19. The contestants who make it to the semi-finals will compete in the finals in a competition open to the public on February 20. The “University” category final will be held on February 22, and the “Young Professional” category final will be held on February 23. Entry to both finals will be free.
Among the awards, the first place winner in the “Young Professional” category will receive 75 lira, the second place winner will receive 55 lira, and the third place winner will receive 35 lira; the first place winner in the “University” category will receive 35 lira, the second place winner will receive 25 lira, and the third place winner will receive 15 lira. There will also be various special awards.
The jury is chaired by Aytül Büyüksaraç, former director of the İzmir State Opera and Ballet, and includes internationally recognized names among the jury members. A total of 102 young opera artists from various cities in Turkey, as well as İzmir, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are participating in the competition.
