The Metropolitan Municipality, which has implemented many projects to present the tourism potential of Kocaeli to Turkey and the world, introduced Kocaeli at the 28th Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair held this year.
KOCAELI'S CULTURAL ACCUMULATION AND TOURISM POTENTIAL WERE INTRODUCED
EMITT, which is among the largest tourism fairs in Europe, the meeting point of the international tourism world and hosts nearly 30 thousand sector professionals and thousands of holiday consumers who want to benefit from the travel opportunities offered by travel companies from all over the world, opened its doors for the 28th time. In this context, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality took its place at the fair to introduce Kocaeli, which has a rich cultural heritage and tourism potential, to Turkey and the world.
THERE WAS GREAT INTEREST IN THE KOCAELI STAND
The 28th East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair (EMITT), one of the largest tourism fairs in Europe, has become an important platform to promote the tourism potential of Kocaeli. The Kocaeli stand, established with the brand “You Will Believe Your Eyes”, attracted great interest from visitors. Under the leadership of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, TÜRSAB Kocaeli Travel Agencies, Kartepe Cable Car, Komeksepeti gift products, district municipalities and Kartepe Tourism Enterprises took part in the fair.
TOURISM COMPANIES INVITED TO KOCAELI
Following the meetings held within the scope of the fair, tour operators and agencies from different countries were invited to Kocaeli in April-May. Visitors were provided with Kocaeli Tourism Guide, Nature Tourism Trails, Blue Bayraklı The tourism diversity of the city was conveyed by presenting beaches, Kocaeli Tourism Map and various promotional materials.
SUPPORT FROM VICE PRESIDENT BERNA ABİŞ
Participating in the EMİTT Tourism Fair, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Berna Abiş visited the stands of Hatay and Adıyaman, the provinces that most painfully felt the earthquakes that occurred on February 6, 2023, and conveyed her condolences. Abiş, who was at the Kocaeli stand throughout the day, held one-on-one meetings with visitors.
KOCAELI PROMOTION DAY WAS HELD
In the fair where Kocaeli took its place with a special stand, local and foreign visitors were informed about the tourism destinations of Kocaeli. In addition, the second day of the fair was held as “Kocaeli Promotion Day”. On the promotion day, visitors were informed about the tourism destinations of the city, and local flavors and geographically indicated products of Kocaeli such as Mancarlı Pide, Kandıra Buffalo Yogurt, Sütlü Nuriye, İzmit Simit, İzmit Pişmaniye, Kandıra Village Cheese, Eşme Quince Cezeryesi, Kabaklı Kıvırma and Saray Halva were presented to the participants.
GREAT INTEREST IN KARTEPE CABLE CAR PROJECT
The Kartepe Cable Car Project, which Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has turned a 50-year dream into reality, was one of the important projects introduced at the EMİTT Tourism Fair and attracted great attention. Tourism professionals were introduced and informed about the Kartepe Cable Car, which will allow tourists to view the Gulf of İzmit and Lake Sapanca at the same time and reach the summit of the Samanlı Mountains.
TOURISM MOVIES MEET WITH VISITORS
In addition to the display of Kocaeli tourist routes and symbols, the film “Show Me Kocaeli”, which won the best film award at the International Tourism Film Festival, and “Kocaeli from the Air” were shown on the screen set up at the stand. The film introduced the touristic values of the city especially to foreign guests.
GIFT DRAWINGS RECEIVED GREAT INTEREST
At the EMITT Fair, where the city's tourism potential is aimed to be introduced in the best way, surprise gifts from the city's important tourism destinations were given to the visitors of the Kocaeli stand. Gifts such as bungalow and hotel accommodation, breakfast and dinner in Kartepe and Başiskele region, adventure tours such as ATV tour and zipline in Kartepe, Kartepe Cable Car Ticket were distributed to the visitors with the raffles held at the Kocaeli stand during the fair.
