Kartepe Teleferik Multi-Storey Car Park Counts Down to Opening

The construction of the 598-vehicle capacity multi-storey car park next to the Kartepe cable car station in Derbent is nearing completion.

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality is nearing the end of the construction of the multi-storey car park next to the Derbent station of the Kartepe cable car. With the 99% completion of the project, it will provide relief for vehicle traffic in the region.

PARKING SOLUTION TO TRAFFIC CONGESTION

Kartepe Cable Car line, one of the vision projects of the Metropolitan Municipality and among the safest cable car lines in Turkey, has been receiving great interest from citizens since the day it was opened. With the Kartepe cable car, which is Kocaeli's 50-year dream, citizens are experiencing a unique experience on the summit journey from Derbent to Kuzuyayla. The traffic congestion in the region due to the interest in the cable car will be radically solved thanks to the multi-storey car park.

The construction of the multi-storey car park where citizens coming to the Kartepe Cable Car can park their vehicles comfortably is nearing completion. The car park, which is 99% complete, is counting the days for its opening. The new multi-storey car park draws attention with its modern architectural design and use of quality materials.

A MODERN PARKING LOT IS BEING CREATED

The multi-storey car park, which will add value to Kartepe in terms of both aesthetics and functionality, stands out with its large seating areas, solid structural features and technological equipment that provides energy efficiency. The car park, made of high-quality concrete, steel and other durable materials, offers long-lasting and safe use. It also sets an example in terms of sustainability with its environmentally friendly features. The project aims to contribute to the city's transportation infrastructure and to solve the region's vehicle parking problem.

99 PERCENT COMPLETED

The rough construction, clinker brick facade cladding, ventilation and sanitary installation works of the project, which is under construction by the Rail System Department, have been completed. The car park’s fiber cement exterior cladding and sunshade, exterior plaster, surface hardening slope concrete manufacturing on the floors, joinery and photocell door installations, fire sprinkler piping and fire escape installation, air conditioning commissioning, elevator installation manufacturing and cable tray electrical interior installation works are about to be completed.

PARKING LOT WITH 598 VEHICLE CAPACITY

The 22-storey car park, which has a total construction area of ​​338 square meters and consists of 4 blocks, will have a total capacity of 6 vehicles, 36 of which belong to the disabled. In addition, there will be an electric charging station for 598 vehicles and 54 pedestrian elevators in the car park. In the project, various lengths of sprayed concrete nails with 3-degree angles, concrete in the C15/35 pressure resistance class, HDPE corrugated pipes with diameters of 45 mm and 200 mm were used in the infrastructure, two coats of water-based semi-matte paint on the interior facade, and decorative facade brick coating on the exterior facade. The project, which is 400% complete, is counting the days to be put into service. When the modern multi-storey car park is put into service, citizens who show great interest in the cable car will be able to park their vehicles comfortably.
