
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Japan’s largest airline, All Nippon Airways, has started direct flights between Tokyo Haneda and Istanbul Airport. Minister Uraloğlu said, “Istanbul Airport has further strengthened its position in global aviation by increasing the number of airlines it serves to 111.”
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Japan’s largest airline, All Nippon Airways (ANA), has started direct flights between Tokyo Haneda and Istanbul Airport as of February 12, 2025. Stating that the flights, which will be operated three days a week within the scope of the new line, will be made on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, Uraloğlu made the following statements in his statement:
“Istanbul Airport is strengthening its position as a global hub day by day. The fact that Japan’s largest airline, ANA, has started to operate flights on this route will strengthen the airline connection between Turkey and Japan and contribute to the cooperation between the two countries.”
First Carrier Other Than Turkish Airlines
Uraloğlu underlined that ANA is the first airline company to operate flights on this route after Turkish Airlines and said, “It has once again demonstrated the importance of Istanbul Airport in the growing international airline network. This is an indication that our airport continues to be a center of attraction for airline companies worldwide.”

Minister Uraloğlu also stated that Istanbul Airport has further strengthened its position as a global transfer hub with ANA starting direct flights between Tokyo Haneda and Istanbul Airport, and said, “Istanbul Airport has further strengthened its position in global aviation by increasing the number of airlines it serves to 111.”
