
A plane carrying 80 passengers made a hard landing at Toronto Pearson Airport, flipping over and injuring at least 18 people.
Footage from the scene showed a Delta Air Lines plane overturned on the snow-covered runway and people walking away.
Two people in critical condition were airlifted to a nearby trauma centre and one child was taken by ambulance to a hospital in downtown Toronto. Twelve other people suffered minor injuries.
Flight 4819, operated by Delta subsidiary Endeavor Air, crashed while landing in Toronto at around 14.45:XNUMX local time after flying from Minneapolis in the US state of Minnesota.
The US Federal Aviation Administration said all 80 people on board the plane were evacuated.
The horrific incident briefly halted traffic at Canada's busiest airport. The crash comes less than three weeks after an American Airlines plane collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter in mid-air over Washington, D.C., killing all 67 people on board.
