Corn Silage Support Started in Ankara

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) has started the distribution of corn silage produced at BAKAP, Turkey's largest agricultural campus. The 100 tons of corn silage distributed with a 1095 percent grant will support the economies of 24 cattle breeders in 522 districts by reducing their input costs.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality encourages animal breeders in the capital to produce and contributes to their economy.

The Rural Services Department started the distribution of 1095 tons of corn silage produced at the BAKAP Agricultural Campus to animal producers under the age of 42 with a 100 percent grant.

Corn silage will be donated to 24 young producers from 522 districts who apply via the address “baskenttarim.ankara.bel.tr” and meet the necessary criteria. The amount of support given to producers who own large animals was determined according to the number of animals. Accordingly:

· 1 ton for farmers with 3 to 1 head of cattle,

· 4 ton for farmers with 8 to 1,5 head of cattle,

· 9 tons of corn silage will be donated to farmers with 30 to 2,5 head of cattle.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STARTS THROUGH PRODUCTION

Stating that farmers engaged in animal husbandry support production by reducing feed costs, Şereflikoçhisar Mayor Mustafa Koçak said, “In our understanding of municipality, we are aware that economic development is achieved through production. I hope that the corn silage we distribute with a 100% grant in order to revive and encourage production will be beneficial and fruitful for our district and producers. In this regard, we would like to thank our producers who will contribute to the economic development of our country and support us on this journey. Our duty is to support them in order to develop production, and our producers are responsible for producing for the development of the country. In this sense, we will always be by the side of all our producers both as the Metropolitan Municipality and as the Şereflikoçhisar Municipality. We are determined in this regard.”

EFFICIENCY IN PRODUCTION PROCESSES INCREASES THANKS TO SUPPORTS

Haymana Mayor Levent Koç, who emphasized that the efficiency in production processes has increased thanks to the support provided by ABB for rural areas, said, “We are experiencing another example of the work of our President Mansur Yavaş in Haymana, where he stands by our producers. As of today, we are offering a total of 42 packages of 500 kilos of silage to producers under the age of 234 in our district with a 100 percent grant. We are distributing silage to our producers in a total of 3 regions, namely Haymana Center, Baltalin and Sırçasaray Neighborhood. On this occasion, I would like to express my gratitude to the Metropolitan Municipality, our President Mansur on behalf of all our producers.”

TARGET AUDIENCE YOUNG FARMERS

Underlining that the Rural Services Department provides all kinds of support to increase agricultural sustainability, Livestock Services Branch Manager Nurgül Söğüt said:

“We started to harvest the silage corn grown in our Gölbaşı Agricultural Campus and deliver it to our growers with a 100% grant. In this context, we created our distribution programs in 24 districts. We determined our rural youth as our target audience by supporting our young growers under the age of 42. We have planned to distribute 522 tons of corn silage to our 1095 growers. We started our first distribution in our Şereflikoçhisar district. Our distributions will continue in this manner in our other districts.”
