ASSAN, one of the important players in the Turkish defense industry, is preparing to exhibit its 60 mm commando mortar, which it produced with its unique design, at the IDEX 2025 fair to be held in the United Arab Emirates. This new generation commando mortar was designed to be used in providing close fire support to security forces, having successfully completed the firing test with 20 ammunition after passing approximately 400 challenging tests.

ASSAN's 60 mm commando mortar has a maximum firing capacity of 15-20 rounds per minute and can fire 4-6 rounds continuously. This allows its users to provide intensive and rapid fire support. The system, which has a 650 mm long barrel, has a very light and portable structure with a weight of only 8 kg. Especially when considering the operations carried out by commandos, portability provides a great advantage.
The system's operating pressure is limited to 250 bar and can reach a maximum range of 1800 m. The barrel service life is determined as 6000 shots, but this value may vary depending on the M49A2 ammunition and gunpowder type used. These performance values ensure that the system can operate effectively even in difficult conditions and increase operational efficiency.

The 60 mm commando mortar is designed especially for commandos who need to be mobile. Thanks to its lightweight structure and portability, commandos working in different geographies will be able to provide instant fire support in operation areas.
